ADR Mechanisms under the UN Charter: the case of Ukraine

More powerful than any army or weapons will always be our ability to open the minds of our opponents through constructive, interest-based communication and collaboration. While it seems that the conflict in Ukraine escalated beyond repair, at Arbitras we believe that ADR methods of conflict resolution should not be neglected.

In fact, the UN Charter does provide for such mechanisms where members can dissolute their disputes through open and peaceful dialogue. Though, are these mechanisms effective and within reach? How could we bring the parties to the table, and should we? Would the use of such mechanisms rather mean that we are trading justice for peace?

To explore the ADR avenues available in the case of the ongoing Ukrainian war, Arbitras would like to invite you to a panel discussion on “ADR Mechanisms under the UN Charter: the case of Ukraine”.

Our distinguished panelists, with established careers in arbitration, diplomacy and international law, will share their view on the UN system of peaceful dispute resolution as well as inform the audience on the international law violations currently happening in Ukraine.

The event will take place on the 8th of April 2022, at 18:00 CET, in an online format.
